Please note that in the case of an application under section 96(1)(a) of the Building Act 2004, the application must be accompanied by any fees, charges, or levies that would have been payable had the owner, or the owner's predecessor in title, applied for a building consent before carrying out the building work. This is calculated on a case by case basis with each application and must be paid before processing commences.
5. Officer charge out rates:
Provided that where the time taken to process a Building Consent, Certificate of Acceptance or Building Inspection function exceeds the scheduled minimum application fee then additional time will be charged at an hourly rate determined by:

Note 1: Building Consent/ PIM fees are non refundable deposits payable at time of lodgement of the application, with the balance of charges payable invoiced on approval. The Council may use discretion in refunding part of the deposit if the total costs are significantly less than the deposit.
