Family flat encumbrance

Christchurch City Plan only

An encumbrance (bond) registered for the purpose of a family flat is essentially a promise to do certain work and/or to pay a sum of money if any condition of the encumbrance is breached, including the requirement to do work.

The form of encumbrance currently used for family flats is a bond without cash payment. The bond sum will be $5000, payable if the encumbrance is breached.

To request an encumbrance for a family flat, please fill out the application form below and forward to a Building Consent Officer.

Complete and print your form:

Form P-010 application [DOC 212KB]
Form P-010 application [PDF 136KB]

In order to avoid delay, it is suggested that you submit the Request for encumbrance form and the fee when submitting your application for building consent.
