The Council provides a range of recreational and sporting facilities for everyone to enjoy. Whether you want to get fit, have fun or just be outdoors, there is something for everyone.
We also produce the The Active Canterbury Sport and Recreation Guide [PDF 1.19MB]. It contains a wide range of information including contact details for sport and recreation groups, funding opportunities, support services, map of sports grounds, facilities and other useful links.
The free guide is printed by Christchurch City Council Recreation and Sport Unit once a year in March and widely distributed throughout Christchurch to sports clubs and associations, sporting goods retailers, schools and various sports facilities.
