QEII Park Recreation and Sport Centre & QEII Fitness at Parklands

QEII Park Recreation and Sport Centre was built specifically for the 1974 Commonwealth Games, QEII Park is a sporting icon for Christchurch and New Zealand.

Today, the facility is closed for the foreseeable future due to the 22 February earthquake. The popular QEII Fitness Centre has been re-located to Parklands Community Centre and is now open.

General Information - QEII Fitness at Parklands

QEII Fitness at Parklands is a new fully equipped fitness centre only facility and has:

  • Free weights
  • Group fitness classes
  • TV screens
  • Designated assessment room
  • Full range of strength & cardio equipment

A full range of group fitness classes will be available Monday - Thursday. All those with active QEII & Centennial Fitness memberships will be able to access QEII Fitness at Parklands until the expiry of their current membership.

Opening Hours - QEII Fitness at Parklands

  • Monday - Thursday, 6am - 9pm
  • Friday, 6am - 6pm
  • Weekends and public holidays, 8am - 2pm

QEII Fitness at Parklands is located in the Parklands Community Centre at 
75 Queenspark Drive, Parklands (opposite Parklands Shopping Centre). 

Public transport

Take the no 7 bus route to Parklands Shopping Centre.

Parking

Onsite parking is available at the Parklands Community Centre.

Bicycles

Bike stands are available at the Parklands Community Centre.
