The Christchurch Botanic Gardens is open all year round.
Gates open at 7am.
Gates close:
- November – February 9pm
- March 8.30pm
- April – September 6.30pm
- October 8.30pm
Information Centre opening hours:
Botanic Garden Information Centre and the conservatories are closed on Christmas Day.
Conservatories opening hours:
Open daily from 10.15am – 4pm.
There is no charge for entry. Residents of Christchurch pay for the upkeep of the Gardens through a property-based rates system.
Donations are appreciated and can be given through the onsite donation boxes. All donations go towards operational costs of the gardens.

The main entrance is on Rolleston Avenue, Christchurch.

You can enter the Gardens through one of four entrances:
- Armagh footbridge off Rolleston Avenue
- Rolleston Avenue
- West bridge off Riccarton Avenue
- Woodland Bridge off Riccarton Avenue.
Car parks
Public car parks are available at Armagh Street and Rolleston Avenue entrance.
Please note there is a 180minute parking limit which applies Monday to Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm. After hours: Administered by ADT Security.
