The Friends of the Christchurch Botanic Gardens have been supporting the Gardens since 1989 undertaking activities and providing services that benefit the Gardens. They also act as an independent advocate for the improvement of the Gardens.
Friends are involved in a variety of activities including:
Volunteer guides, providing:
Daily walking tours of the Gardens starting from the Museum entrance. See

Special interest tours or talks of the Gardens on one Saturday each month. See
events for more information.
Special
tours for groups by arrangement.
Propagation group
Teams of volunteers work in the Friends' glasshouse producing plants that are sold at the Information Centre and at seasonal plant sales.
Regular meetings and outings
Hosting meetings and undertaking visits on botanical and related subjects.
Newletter
A quarterly newsletter (and programme of coming events) - The newsletter gives an update of news about the Gardens and items of interest for plant and garden lovers.
All funds raised by the Friends go towards special projects in the Gardens.
