Central City all-day parking
The Christchurch City Council is offering All-Day metered parking in the Central City to encourage visitors to stay longer and to support the regeneration of the area.
Signage is available in locations where all-day parking is available. Please check the price before purchasing as the prices may vary.
The all-day parks will be available at existing designated ‘pay and display’ on-street parking spaces. You pay for your parking utilising the ‘pay and display’ meters as usual. There is no change to how you pay only how much you pay (payment by text may not be available due to technical issues).

Metered parking in the central city area
All metered parking within the central city area resumes as the cordon reduces. This is constantly being updated. Enforcement of meters has re-commenced.
Council's Pay by Phone car parks
Council currently has three car parks in operation that utilise Pay by Phone technology, instead of or in support of the parking meter:
Aldersgate (Opposite the District Court at 309 Durham St),
293 St Asaph St (Opposite CPIT), and
Triangle (Cnr High & Cashel St).
Council utilises three Pay by Phone companies to supply the service to Council, being Txtpay (www.txtpay.co.nz), Frog Parking (www.frogparking.com) and mPark (www.mpark.co.nz).
Each company charges different transaction fees, so it pays to call them all before deciding which one to use. All of the fees are cheaper than the standard parking meter. Click here for more information.
