Hospital car park building

Situated on the west side of Antigua Street between Tuam and St Asaph Streets. Vehicles may approach from either direction on Antigua Street.

Pedestrian entrances are off Antigua and Tuam Streets and customers may also use the existing pedestrian accessway under the roadway that links the car park with the hospital.

Please Note: The Public Hospital Car Park Building is closed until further notice following the Magnitude 5.5 aftershock on 9 October 2011.

Hours:

  • Monday – Friday 7am – 8.45pm
  • Saturday – Sunday 9am – 8.45pm

Charges:

  • Casual - $1.30 per half hour or part thereof.
  • Maximum daily rate of $17 per day for the hours that the car park is open i.e. Monday – Friday 7am – 8.45pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am – 8.45pm.
  • Payment by EFTPOS and credit card is available.
  • There is no transaction fee when paying by credit card.
  • All prices include GST.

Reserved parking:

  • The car park building is operated by the Council under a sub-lease.
  • Reserved parking can be arranged via the hospital administration and is only available to hospital staff.
  • Discounts are available for some patients and caregivers. The Council has an arrangement in place whereby Canterbury District Health Board (CDHB) patients are eligible for a 'high user' or 'long stay' discount under a criteria agreed upon by the Council and CDHB. The discount is not available to CDHB staff, only to patients or care givers of patients.
  • The Council offers the discount without any subsidy from CDHB.
