About this ride
Start: Intersection of Evans Pass and Summit Roads. The track begins 50m up Summit Road to the right.
Finish: Wakefield Ave, Sumner.
Access: Leave your car at the bottom of the hill and bike up Evans Pass Road and right onto Summit Road to begin the track.
Signage: You'll find a mountain bike sign with no name at the start of the track. There is a large Captain Thomas sign at the bottom of the hill where the track meets Wakefield Ave.
- Single track begins on a smooth, well worn track surface.
- Through the middle section of the ride there are some rocky technical sections with large bluff drops to watch out for the sign posts.
- Finish the ride with a section of stairs that are easily ridden but still blur the vision and rattle the brain.
- Please close gates in the native bush area, as stock will quickly destroy this if they get in.
- This is a popular track with walkers and runners so please give way and control your speed.
- This track offers great views directly into Sumner and out of over the coast.
