This community centre is available for dance, educational, and art and craft activities. The large hall also has large mirrors and ballet rails that are suitable for dance classes.
The centre is set in small grounds on Waimairi Road. Avonhead Play Centre operates from here four days per week (not Wednesday) from 8.30am to midday during the school term. On Wednesdays, Avonhead Playgroup use the centre from 8.30am to midday during the school term.
The centre has a large hall, a small hall and a kitchen. The play-ground at the rear of the centre is owned and operated by Avonhead Play centre and is not for use by hire groups.

Health and safety
As part of the rental agreement the hirer accepts legal responsibilities to meet evacuation plans, health and safety responsibilities and to act as the facility warden.
All users are required to complete a 'pre use' form before they use Waimairi Road Community Centre. These must then be signed, dated and left in the plastic drop box in the foyer of the centre. The box is cleared once a week.

Waimairi Road Community Centre is available for hire Monday-Sunday, 8.30am–9.30 pm.
Alcohol
The consumption and supply of alcohol is not permitted at this facility.
Equipment available
The facility has token-operated wall mounted heaters. Tokens for the heating are kept in the kitchen cupboard and one token lasts for one hour. The token boxes are located in each of the halls.
The centre has 2 hour timers on the walls for the heaters.
There is a baby change table located in the disabled access toilet.
