Heritage Incentive Grants

The Christchurch City Council established the Heritage Incentive Grant Fund to provide financial assistance to owners of heritage items listed in the City Plan.

Following the 4 September Canterbury Earthquake the Council resolved on 11 November 2010 to commit $383,000 from the current 2010-2011 Heritage Incentive Grants Fund, with a further commitment of 50 percent of next year's funding.

In addition the Council will commit this financial year's Character Housing Maintenance Grant Fund of $45,310.

Council continues to offer heritage advice at no charge to the building owner, recognising the importance of this as an incentive for heritage protection.
