Selling food from a mobile or travelling shop

A mobile or travelling shop may not remain on any site for a period exceeding one hour. Approval from the Council Property Consultancy Team is required if a mobile or travelling shop operator wishes to remain on a site for periods longer than an hour.

Selling food from a mobile or travelling shop is restricted by location. Where the activity is permitted, all health requirements must be met, and a stall or mobile or travelling shop permit is required. The mobile or travelling shop booklet [PDF 35KB] provides more information.

There are food safety guidelines in moveable food premises [PDF 530KB] which cover supply and transport, food handling, food protection and personal hygiene. Application for a Food Health Licence is required if selling food.
