Public holidays rubbish and recycling collection
Collection times often change on public holidays so place your rubbish bags and crates out before 7.30am to ensure collection.
Christchurch
Normal collections take place when your rubbish and recycling day falls on:
- Waitangi Day
- Easter Monday
- Queen's Birthday
- Labour Day
- Show Day
- Boxing Day
- January 2
Please ensure that all bags and crates are out by 7:30am as usual. The contractor may come earlier in your street if there is less refuse to collect.
The following Public Holidays DO NOT have rubbish and recycling collection:
- Christmas Day
- New Years Day
- Easter Good Friday
- Anzac Day
If these collection days fall on a:
- Monday or Tuesday please place your bag and crate out for collection on the Saturday the week before.
- Wednesday, Thursday and Friday please place your bag and crate out for collection on the following Saturday.
Remember to have your bag and/or crate out by 7.30am to ensure collection.
Advertisements will be placed if there is any change to this. Please refer to local newspapers on Wednesday and Saturday prior to the holiday for full details.
Banks Peninsula
If a Collection day falls on a Public Holiday, the next working day will normally be the collection day. Changes of collection dates due to Public Holidays will be advertised in The Akaroa Mail and The Press newspapers.
Remember to have your bag and/or crate out by 7.30am to ensure collection.
