Recycling at Events

At the 2002 A&P show nearly 100% of people surveyed agreed that there should be recycling at public events. Recycling at events is easier than you think.

The following will assist organisers and stall holders to recycle at their events:

Support for event holders

Sustainability by Design has a contract to provide assistance to event organisers in setting up recycling at their events. Case studies will also be produced for the supported events.

Equipment

Available on loan at no cost to event organisers are bin caps and flags. This equipment is owned by the Council and needs to be booked at least three weeks in advance of the event.

Recycle flag sets (57 flag sets)
Each set consists of a green flag, pole, arm and base contained within a bag. 29 sets have a spike base suitable for lawns and soft ground. The other half have a round base that can be filled with water or sand, suitable for hard surfaces.

Bin caps (59 bin caps)
The caps are designed to fit over large open wheelie bins. They are labelled for recyclable plastic, glass and metal containers.
