Hoon Hay Scenic Reserve

Hoon Hay Reserve and Coronation Hill.

The Crater Rim Walkway traverses the reserve on its way to Ahuriri Reserve from the Sign of the Kiwi. The crater rim of the extinct Lyttelton volcano actually forms the boundary of Hoon Hay Scenic Reserve, and this southern side of the reserve offers some lovely views over the steep bluffs and gullies towards Governors Bay.

A feature of interest in this reserve is an old hewn milestone erected by the Summit Road Society which can still be seen on the reserve.
