Cemeteries

There are 21 cemeteries administered by the Christchurch City Council, three of which (Addington, Woolston and Barbadoes Street) are closed.

Administration
Cemeteries are administered by the Transport and Greenspace Unit who maintain records of all burials, provide services of sextons to assist in arranging burials and manage the maintenance of the grounds.

Bookings
Bookings and enquiries are handled by the Cemeteries Administrator. The Banks Peninsula Cemeteries are administered through the local Service Centres.
