Debating Chamber
The former 1887 debating chamber is still in its original condition. This room is perfect for lectures, meetings, debates and functions: may the room once again echo to the sounds of public discussion!
The chamber can accommodate up to 130 people standing or up to 100 people theatre-style. Hirage is $150 for the initial 3 hours and $30 per hour for subsequent hours each day.
Library
Originally the Councillors' library, this gracious room has a south-facing balcony from which important announcements were made by Mayors in the Victorian and early Edwardian period.
This room can accommodate up to 20 people, or 15-18 people seated at tables. Hirage is $50 for the initial 3 hours, and $15 per hour for subsequent hours each day.
Security
For functions outside public hours security will be arranged by Our City O-Tautahi, to ensure that uninvited people do not gain access during the period of hire.
Costs associated with security are $20 per hour (inclusive of GST). Please remember to include any pre-event organisational time you may need when calculating your booking and security times.
Catering
Our City is able to provide morning and afternoon tea for a maximum of 50 people on request within office hours. Prices for our tea and coffee packages range from $2.50 to $5.00/head.

Orders are to be made by the client and invoices are to be sent directly to the client.

Parking
Visit the Council's parking webpage for parking buildings in the city.
For unloading at Our City there are 3 five-minute parking lots just outside the building on Oxford Terrace, opposite Rydges Hotel. If you will need to unload for a longer period of time, please contact us and provide us with the registration number of your car, so we can inform Christchurch City Council. You may be able to park for up to one hour. Our City will not be responsible for tickets.
