Latest news - Central City Alcohol Ban proposal passed by Council 20th December 2002

Christchurch City Council today (20 December) brought in a ban on the public carrying or drinking of alcohol on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, from 7pm to 7am the following morning.

The first day of the ban will be Boxing Day, 26 December.

All streets, malls, parks and public places inside the zone are now alcohol-free between 7pm - 7am Thursday, Friday and Saturday
