When it comes to environmental diversity, Christchurch has it all – from the rich bird and native plant life of Travis Wetland, to the Port Hills' open tussock landscapes and diverse forest wildlife. Based around these sites are some world-leading environmental and waste management programmes showing first-hand the management implications of urban life.

These FREE programmes are exciting and educational. They are led by experienced teachers, council and TerraNova staff and are linked to your curriculum.

Developed by Environment Canterbury on behalf of the Canterbury Waste Joint Committee, Tip the Balance is an interactive resource aimed at year 5-8 students.
