Christchurch City Council encourages cycling through the ongoing development of a cycle network throughout the city, supporting and providing cycle promotions and education.

Christchurch has an ever increasing network of cycle ways linking popular destinations such as malls, shops, cinemas, parks and beaches.

Cycle ways are well marked on main roads and cycle facilities; many are off-road through parks or along the scenic banks of the Avon and Heathcote rivers, enabling cyclists to see a different side of Christchurch than you would by car! It all adds up to make Christchurch a cycle friendly city.
