Fendalton/Waimairi Community Board
The Fendalton/Waimari Community Board represents almost 52,000 people, some 19,000 households in an area extending from the Waimakariri river and Sawyers Arms Road in the north, to Chattertons Road in the west, taking in Christchurch International Airport and the areas as far south as West Coast and Yaldhurst roads. The community includes Harewood, Bishopdale, Burnside, Avonhead, Bryndwr, Russley, Ilam, Fendalton and Merivale.
The Board is supported by the Community Board Support Team which provides advice to the Board and ensures that the Board has the information it needs to assist it in making decisions. It arranges Board meetings and produces agendas for those meetings. The Team also provides information to people who want to come and speak to the Board.
The ward is further supported by a Community Engagement Team which supports the implementation of neighbourhood initiatives by working with individuals and community groups at the local level.
