These statistics have been prepared by the Monitoring and Research Team at the Christchurch City Council in order to provide quick and easy access to information from the 2006 Census of Population and Dwellings.
This information has been obtained from Statistics New Zealand, please cite them as the source. The data in these pages relates to Christchurch City, although comparisons with New Zealand are also provided.
The data is presented at three geographical scales:
- City wide level. Please note that Banks Peninsula is included in Christchurch City statistics due to the 2006 amalgamation.
- Ward level. There are 7 Wards in Christchurch City.
