Azalea Garden
North of the Water Garden and nestled beneath the semi-shade of oaks and birches is the Azalea Garden.
This well established collection is dominated by cultivars of Azalea mollis. A significant number of these are known as Ilam hybrids which are the fruits of a local breeder, the late Edgar Stead.
In addition to the azaleas and equally well established, is a large collection of exquisite magnolias.
The entire spring in this part of the Gardens is truly spectacular. |
