Spring Highlights

What to see and enjoy in the Botanic Gardens during the spring months:

As the sun comes up rest a while and take in the dawn chorus
Annual bedding plant displays – a colourful variety of spring flowering plants.
Daffodil Woodland – features over two hectares of spring flowering bulbs.
Primula Garden – fine collection of flowering primula and associated plants.
Alpine House – a colourful variety of delicate spring flowering plants.
Check out the parading ducklings, waddling and swaying as they go
Fragrant Garden – a variety of fragrant trees, shrubs and herbaceous perennials.
Townend House – changing flowering plants display, including Calceolarias, Schizanthus and Cineraria.
Heather Garden – spectacular spring flowering ericas.
Rock Garden – spring flowering rock garden plants.
Watch the coupling Paradise Ducks as they mark out and defend their territory
Cockayne Memorial Garden – contains a fine collection of New Zealand flowering plants.
Spot the nesting shags in the large trees by the Information Centre Lake
Stand on the stone bridge and see if you can see the gold fish in the Water Garden pond
Azalea and Magnolia Garden – a vibrant selection of flowering azaleas and magnolias.
