Children's Discovery Trails

The Christchurch Botanic Gardens offer a free children's discovery trail every school holiday.

Learn about plants and animals, and discover new areas of the gardens. Each trail explores a different theme and involves a range of fun, hands-on activities. Children are encouraged to use their observation skills and creativity.

The trails are self-guided and require help from a caregiver. They are suitable for children aged between 5 and 12 years and take about 40 minutes to an hour to complete

Trail sheets are available during the school holidays and can be picked up from the Botanic Gardens' Information Centre (Armagh St entrance).

The Information Centre's opening hours are as follows:
Monday - Friday 9.00 till 4.00
Saturday and Sunday 10.15 till 4.00
