Role of the Friends
The Friends undertake activities and provide services for the ultimate benefit of the Gardens and act as an independent advocate for the betterment of the Gardens
Activities and Services
The Friends act as an independent advocate for the betterment of the Gardens.
Volunteer guides provide:
- Daily walking tours of the Gardens (except during winter months) starting from the Museum entrance. See the Tours information for starting times.
- Special interest tours of the Gardens one Saturday each month. See Be there for further information.
- Special tours for groups by arrangement.
Propagation group. Teams of volunteers work in the Friends' glasshouse producing plants that are sold at the Information Centre and at seasonal plant sales.
Regular meetings and outings - Hosting meetings and undertaking visits on botanical and related subjects.
A quarterly Newsletter (and programme of coming events) – The Newsletter gives an update of news about the Gardens and items of interest for plant and garden lovers Go to Newsletters for the latest - and earlier copies of the Newsletter.
Funds raised by the Friends. All funds raised by the Friends go towards special projects in the Gardens.
