It’s a great chance to give to the community and to the environment, while fostering team relations outside the office in the fresh air. It’s also a way for your business to meet its corporate sustainability values, and of course – the public loves a business that gives back.
Christchurch City Council can provide volunteer opportunities for corporate groups, particularly within the regional parks network.
How does it work?
Then tell us about you: your preferences for activity type, place, date and time, how many people by filling in the
volunteer enquiry form.
We will endeavour to find a match for your needs, however please understand that not all parks suit group projects, and opportunities on offer depend on staff capacity and management priorities.
We encourage companies to commit to re-visiting their site to maintain their work and ensure the best outcome for their efforts. Talk to staff about what’s required.
Things you need to know
- Council staff will in most cases supervise the activity, provide health and safety information and can provide some equipment (e.g. tools) and materials for the activity (e.g. plants, mulch).
- The company’s coordinator is in charge of ensuring everyone follows safe practice and has a good time. Please ensure that all staff have read the Volunteer Guidelines before they come, and that they bring the right gear.
- Volunteers need to bring: warm clothes, raincoat, hat, sturdy boots, food and drinks. If you have equipment needed for the activity (e.g. spade) then please bring it.
